Meeting Report – october 10, 2023

The Cedar Landing 2 – Creek Estates Road Maintenance Organization (RMO) Board of Directors convened at 507 Bishop Drive on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm.

Cynthia Kunz, President, convened the meeting.

The report of the September meeting was accepted.

  1. Road Maintenance

Ms. Kunz explained that no responses to the Request for Quotation were received, including from current contractor, Bisping Land Improvements (BLI).  She noted that she had sent the proposed contract and invited BLI to adjust labor and equipment costs if necessary.  Steve Hanchey followed up and talked to Ryan Bisping, who confirmed that he did not want the work but would continue for the time being.  Members agreed to discuss alternatives in the next meeting.

 

Members discussed preventative patching on Cedar Avenue asphalt and reviewed remaining issues to be addressed as soon as possible, along with quarterly grading and patching:

  • Block of Landing Drive approaching Driftwood – done – Rob Schneider tried to narrow the road but rock was too hard; added seed and straw
  • Ashley Lane at Phillips Court – needs rock – done
  • Park Drive – ponding at 603 and 605 and roadbed stabilization
  • Rustic Court – rock
  • Ashley Lane at Phillips Court culvert
  • Cedar Avenue – continue speed bumps replacement
  • New speed bump – 502-503 Creek

Members reviewed issues to be addressed after Hurricane Season:

  • Bishop Drive – roadbed stabilization
  • Bishop Court – roadbed stabilization
  • Cedar Avenue and Pine Ridge Drive – tile replacement
  • Donna’s Drive – rock to relieve ponding and stabilize roadbed
  • Creek Court potholes
  • Extension of rock – Landing Drive toward Cedar Avenue

 

  1. Financial Operations

The current bank balance is $27,475.

 

  1. Other Issues
  • Fall Community Grill – Great success; new people; cash raffle generated interest
  • Boat launch site – Any issues with access or parking, contact Cecil Cameron (919-356-2269 or 919-770-1219)
  • Wood walkway at boat launch site – no update

 

  • Landscaping around Creek Estates sign – Lisa Fussell will coordinate volunteers (John and Dana Brooks, Scott Campbell, Ann Donnelly, and Jared and Amanda Grantham)
  • Website transition – Reach out to Cheri Parnell’s grandson for assistance for Jeff

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 507 Bishop Drive at 6:00 pm.
