BOARD of directors

CL2 – CE RMO, Inc.

Meeting Report – February 1, 2022

The Cedar Landing 2 – Creek Estates Road Maintenance Organization (RMO) Board of Directors convened at 507 Bishop Drive on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 6:30 pm.

Acting President Cynthia Kunz convened the meeting.

The report of the January 4, 2022 meeting was accepted as corrected.

  1. Bylaws, Officers, and Meetings

Acting Treasurer Ann Donnelly reported that the majority of ballots submitted supported revising the bylaws to increase the number of members of the board of directors from no more than five (5) to nine (9), and the board welcomed new members Scott Campbell, Cheri Parnell, and Rob Schneider.

Members appointed Cynthia Kunz as President/Secretary and Ann Donnelly as Treasurer.

Members discussed plans for quarterly community meetings and agreed that signage will be designed to be attached to the two ‘Private Road’ signs on Cedar Avenue and Landing Drive.

  1. Road Maintenance
  2.            BLI Work

Members reviewed the project list and agreed to road grading and patching and essential repairs until next fall after hurricane season.

  1. Other Road Work

President Cynthia Kunz reported that she had ordered the signage for the Landing Court boat launch site.  Members noted that the re-installation of reflective tape on the Cedar Avenue speed bumps, the installation of the Landing Drive street sign, and the BLI estimate for NCDOT-type speed bumps on lower Cedar Avenue were pending.

  1. Financial Operations

Treasurer Ann Donnelly reported a current bank balance of $12,200.00, with roughly $12,000 received since January 1, representing roughly 30% of property owners paying their road fees.

III.           Member/RMO Issues

A complaint was received regarding the leaves piled in the ditch in front of 405 Creek Drive and members agreed to send a letter to the owners asking them to remove or burn the leaves as soon as possible.  Members noted several other pennding issues:

  • Procedures for initiating action to condemn derelict properties – Ms. Kunz will inquire about this when she talks to Ken Ording about the Deer Run HOA road closure
  • Request to re-open Doe Ridge Drive at Cedar Avenue – Ms. Kunz will meet with Pender County Fire Marshal and attorney Ken Ording this month
  • Request for Financial or In-Kind assistance in maintaining Cedar Avenue from the Town of Surf City and Pender County – On hold

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at 507 Bishop Drive.
